In this series I will showcase DLM cars ranging within the 1/64 and smaller. Another presentation of a pair of die cast with common themes from the 60's again. The 5th one is a pair of M2 Machines Ford Econoline that deals with snakes err…. I mean Cobra.

M2 is currently headquartered in Azusa CA and originally concentrated in creating 1/64 cars of the 50's and 60's era. Then little by little they started doing trucks, auto haulers and now vans like the Econoline. which I have acquired a few of them in different colors and styles.

So what is this Cobra all about? A lot of you folks already know what it is but for the benefit of some, it all started with Carroll Hall Shelby who was an American automotive designer, racing driver, and entrepreneur. He was best known for his involvement with the AC Cobra and later the Mustang-based performance cars for Ford Motor Company known as Shelby Mustangs, which he had modified during the late-1960 and early-2000. After retiring from driving in October 1959 for health reasons, he opened a high-performance driving school which is what the van below is all about.

M2 did a great job on this casting although when it was first released I wasn’t too thrill with it as I expected M2 to have moving parts on all its casting and I wanted the side doors to open and this one doesn’t.

Notice on top that there are lines on the body. This was actually a reissue by M2 of this casting as these were originally released without the lines.

Lastly these 2 will be great companions for my Ford tractor trailer cobra theme.
