On this Thursday on the Thames we have three of Lotus’s greatest lightweight two seaters which range from playful roadsters to dedicated track machines. Technically, the latter isn’t strictly a Lotus at all, rather it’s Caterham’s modern-day interpretation of the classic Lotus Seven.
The Evora GTE is a variant of the Evora that was built by Lotus to satisfy FIA’s homologation requirements for the GT3 and LM GTE class. Originally intended as a 25 number limited run for the Chinese market, Lotus upped production seeing the demand explode there and later expanded sales to the rest of world.

The FIA’s R-GT class (Rallying for GT cars) was introduced in 2011 to lure the likes of Lotus, Nissan, Renault and Alfa Romeo (all of which had GT cars in the market) into theGT class on rounds of the World Rally Championship.

One of Roger Moore’s ride in the 1981 James Bond movie, ‘For Your Eyes Only’, this particular white Esprit Turbo didn’t live to see the end of the movie. It got blown to smithereens when it’s own car alarm bomb thwarted a break-in by the baddies’ henchmen.
A beautiful Lotus Evora in classic British Racing Green. Mmmhmmmmm.......
Not my favourite colour choice for a Lotus Esprit, but I guess it works...?

The little black beauty. The ultimate track day car. The Lotus Exige. Simplify, then add lightness indeed.
The Caterham Superlight R500 by Matchbox and my plastic version of the Lotus/Caterham Super 7. I have limited access to Lego pieces so this puppy came out as a mishmash of colors all over
