1/87 Galore and a thing I did

Taking the bus from school one afternoon and decided to alight a few stops earlier due to slow traffic when I decided walking would be faster. While making my way through a row of shops, I discovered a place which sells nothing but toys. Of course, I had to check it out!

Bam! They had rows and columns of 1:87 models. They have quite a lot of detail for that scale! /paging edu-petrolhead

They didn't have any of the 1:64 models I was looking for but poking around a bit more and I discovered a few awesome 1:43 Kyosho models (BMW M3 GT-R at RM 40(?!), Rolex 24 Daytona Nissan 300ZX-Turbo, FD3S RX-7 both at RM 60), then there were a dozen other Ferrari models. My heart stopped for a moment...

Because I saw this! There was a black on black on black 1:43 (Kyosho) Ferrari F40, it was teh sex. Fortunately, I happened to be carrying enough cash. How I could I leave without it?!

It was priced at RM 60 (US$ 19) due to a broken clear case. It would definitely not be bought by OCD collectors although the car is in perfectly good nick, at that price it was too good to pass up. The cracked case also removes any guilt when I fettle with it.

Oh, the front and rear compartment do open. But that's for a future review after many other future reviews.

To make up for the potato pics, here's a red example from an earlier acquisition. I have to avoid the shop for now, all the nicely priced Kyosho models will crush any focus I have in my diecast hobby. Also, the place turned out to the the head office for DAISHENG TOYCITY (Malaysia) in Jalan Petaling.
