Previously I compared 3 Chevy 3100 pickups from 2 manufacturers. Today I will be comparing 2 1958 Chevrolet Apache of the 1/24 scale made by M2 and Motor Max.

First contender. Motor Max brand Chevy Apache Fleetside

Motor Max did a low cost but decent looking truck. The cab and bed are molded separately. A gap at the door but not too bad.
It shows the opening features. The engine is molded in a single color with some detail. Door handle is molded with the door and has silver paint to simulate chrome.
Interior comes in one color. Comes with sticker to highlight the gauges. Gas cap is molded with the body.

The side emblems which read Chevrolet Apache is painted on instead of separate parts. The Chevrolet emblem with the simulated chrome is raised. Gap between the hood and cab.
The headlights, front grill, Chevrolet hood emblem and bumper are separate parts. Has one side mirror. Windshield has silver paint to simulate chrome trim. Wipers molded on the body with silver paint instead of separate parts.

The tail gate does not open and is possibly made of plastic. The rear lights are separate parts. The chrome trim on the rear lights are painted with silver and are molded with the truck side bed.
The bed is molded in one color.

2nd contender. M2 brand Chevy Apache Cameo

M2 did a great job with the 2 tone look. The cab and bed are molded separately.

Interior is nice detailed. Gas cap is separate part. The interior door has separate parts as well.

Here is a comparison of the 2 models side by side.

Underneath the M2 (Right) has more separate parts.

M2 1/24 with 1/64

The M2 is heavier as it comes with more metal and has better detail. But for a company that boast itself with the number of separate parts I was disappointed that the emblem for the front hood and side cab were only painted on which cheapens the look of an otherwise realistic looking truck. Motor Max at least comes with a separate hood emblem and although the side emblem was painted on as well, it was raised to give it a 3D look which M2 could have done. Still I am happy with both.
