3D Thursday: fifteen52's

Illustration for article titled 3D Thursday: fifteen52s

Jalopnik posted fifteen52's wheel design coaster series a couple weeks ago. They are made of laser cut wood and show off all of their designs while being (somewhat) functional. I noticed many comments pointed out the holes that essentially render said coasters useless, but hey, form over function.

The logical response to the first two questions is: yes, go check out LaLD!!!

Seeing as I’ve featured the HW and 3D printed versions of the fifteen52 R40 several times, I thought I’d make my own coaster and gather up some diecast. A good way to save $35.52 + shipping ;)

I’ll take requests as wheels are generally much easier to make than 3D car models, but next I was thinking about recreating some classic HW wheel designs in coaster form.

Block likes (or just gets lots of money) from fifteen52 + HW used them on the 05 Mustang. I thought it interesting that HW used different styles front to back when they look the same on the car. Maybe the dark grey color?
