Everybody has a treasured first car of some kind. Their first diecast, their first 1/18, their first premium. For me this is one of those cars; it is my first AUTOart. It was a great deal on a pretty good, albeit slightly dated, 1/18 car.
One note before I dive into the review: pictures do not serve this car, or AUTOart’s in general, justice.
This car, coming from a person who had only Maisto and Bburago, is perfection. I by no means consider myself an expert at AUTOart though, because I only have two (soon to be 3 [hopefully]). The car is just stunning. Every single detail is done to perfection. The badge, the lights, the vents, the everything. Sure, the engine isn’t the prettiest thing, but AUTOart perfectly replicated the Camry V-6. All in all, stunning.
Fit and Finish: 9/10
This car feels loads sturdier than my Maistos. Ironic, isn’t it? The adult collectible feels stronger than the kids toy, which is designed to be strong. Obviously you would not want to give this to a kid, but it is very well built.
It has your basic features: doors, hood, and trunk. But it also has carpet and realistic hinges No suspension, but that’s to be expected in an AUTOart.
I spent $55 total on this car (car+tax). I feel that is a steal for a new in package AUTOart.
This is where this car gets destroyed. As of right now, there are about 85 listings on eBay, not to mention other sites.
Should you get one? Yes? I’ll admit it this car is starting to look a little dated, but I like the look. You may not. Most of the reason I got this car is because it was a great deal and I had money. Is it worth $50? Yes. Is it worth $65, the cheapest price on eBay? Maybe?? Personally, I would save my pennies and get a Lamborghini Espada, but again that depends on taste. Overall, a very good car that isn’t for everyone.
