Yup, it’s for a friend and their car is black!!
What you are looking at here is a 1:24 scale, 1957 Chevrolet, Bel-Air diecast from Sunnyside.
Features I really like include plastic rings that are body color around the hubcaps that simulates color keyed steel wheels.
The unique part of this model is that the rear bumper has bumper guards (two vertical forms) molded in.
Look at that the vent windows open with the door....WOW!!!
There is a separate insert for the dashboard that is all chrome, a nice touch!!
There is even an engine. Too bad the distributor and oil port are reversed.
Here is a close-up of those rear bumper guards.
Overall, I would say, a very nice casting. My only critique would be from the side view the rear overhang seems a bit short. But definitively very good for a cheap diecast.
The next series of posts on this car will, of course, follow my disassembly and detailing to match my friend’s car.
