So here’s the full story. I’ve been getting back into collecting this year thanks to LaLD and have been hunting whenever I can. After getting the necessary items, I convinced my mom to go with me to look at the toys. I’ve been collecting NASCAR for decades, so I thought she might be a little embarrassed that I’m regressing to kid toys. I could immediately tell that it was a new case because several of the cars had new for 2016. My mom saw a chrome Hot Wheels High and picked it up to ask what it was... revealing this fabulous Hudson Hornet Super!!! I think I’m still in shock.

I’ve written about nothing but racecars (my primary focus) and this is no different. It’s 18 years older than the Superbirds I wrote up yesterday (and also another real life Cars star!) They also had a couple of regulars, but neither had great tampos so I’ll wait on that one. I love the wheels and the extra detail on top is Super cool!

As if that wasn’t enough, they also had the new retail NASCAR line, now owned by Lionel. I couldn’t find much news online and the oldest posts are 3 days old on YouTube. People are not happy about the monopoly, but they did have a few old Tony Stewart models on clearance so I guess it balances out for now. I picked up Jeff Gordon’s final paint scheme and it looks good.

The package also came with a roughly 1:24 scale hood and I guess that’s how they justify charging $6! This is still cheaper than the $9 they charge for the Action gold series line but too expensive for retail IMO. There were also a couple cars from this year’s Darlington throwback race and Jr.’s Dewshine car.

Best of all, my mom wanted to learn how to look for treasure hunts in the future so bright I showed her LaLD and T-Hunted to get ready for 2016. Look out, there’s a new hunter on the loose!
