It’s one of those rare rainy days in Southern California. Yet I still went out early to go diecast hunting and came back home with probably the most amount of cars I have ever bought in a single day. What did I get and how much did I pay?

Let’s start with some of the loose cars, all of them 50 cents each:

The first car that caught my attention was this facelifted 2nd gen Camaro. A fellow LaLDer asked me to look for one since his dad had/has a 1:1. Not quite the same color as the 1:1 but he didn’t mind the color in the first place and getting this for him for pocket change was quite the bargain.

I’ve been wanting a DeLorean to strip and polish. But this one’s still rather minty with just a scratch in the side decal. If anyone wants to save it, just let me know and I’ll put aside for you.

Minty Porsche 918. I was gonna strip it but realized it’s gonna lose all the headlight/engine detail. It was quite the bargain but I should’ve left this for the next person to find.

MC Toys Porsche. Same casting as my not-so-cheap Maisto but playworn and actually feels cheap. I want to give this to someone who’ll appreciate it.

Real Riders. Okay, more like MBX with rubber tires. I’m glad I didn’t DLM my Lambo yet because this was a fraction of the price (minus the box) and still very minty. The Mustang Cobra has some paint chips and a bent spoiler but the wheels alone were a good deal even though they’re not amazing. I have someone in mind who needs some cheap wheels but maybe I’ll keep the donor cars.

MBX Bentley Continental GT. I sold one about two years ago on eBay at scalper prices that I originally got for $1. I bought this just for the memories. There were two of these in mint condition but I left the other at the top of the bin for the next bargain hunter to bring home.

Miata. You guys don’t mind me destroying the paint on this right? If anyone wants it, let me know.

A minty VW Type 181. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Civic. The MBX, not the Mini GT. It’s hideous. A fellow LaLDer almost wanted it but I had to be honest and show him how hideous it is. Why did I even pick this up? Oh wait, I’ve always wanted to leave one of these on the windshield of a 1:1.

I thought this was a hatchback, not crossover SUV.

Some trucks for my niece. They’re toys and gonna stay toys. The firetruck was an absolute bargain because I almost bought the same thing earlier this week at retail for $5.

Check out all the detail on this MBX food truck! The interior is detailed too but I’m having trouble with the lighting.

Nothing too special about the carded $1 mainlines. Mostly for customs and one of them is the closest thing to my dad’s 1:1. There’s one with CM5 co-molded wheels if anyone wants them more than me. Then there’s the Car Culture Porsche 962. That was $5 and the last one left so I just got it because I liked it. Plenty of the Momo ones so I’ll wait on those.

The best deal of them all? There’s a reason I have four Mini GTs sitting in the back. A fellow LaLDer told he me could get them for $15. I told him that’s how much I got mine for t0o. But I got two for that price. And that’s after I told the seller to keep the change from $12 because he’s given me too many good deals. So basically they were $6 each but I decided to pay closer to $7 because he’s such a nice guy. I expected something closer to $10 after I got mine from Hong Kong for $12. I had to buy two more after realizing the price and there happened to only be two more left. I’m so lucky to live close to the US distributor and have access to a wholesaler. They’ve pretty much all been claimed but I could still consider sparing one more.

Total damage: $42 (or 39 if I hadn’t rounded up the change)
