It’s been a busy week. Time for some catch-up. Thanks for joining me!
For Day 16, we have...
...the 2005 Classics series 1968 Mustang!
Dig that Spectraflame Purple, stripes and opening hood. Unfortunately that’s about as wide as it goes...really hard to get a good look at the engine.
Another standout feature is the Goodyear-lettered GY5SP wheels. Also, looking at this pic, I just noticed the detail paint on the tail. This is a real beauty that I didn’t appreciate enough when I actually opened it a few days ago.
For Day 17, we have...
...the 2008 Team: Volkswagen series Volkswagen Beetle! This time, in black.
The pinstripe work is beautiful, and the regular 5SP wheels look really nice here.
Have to admit here that I already have this one. I felt bad mentioning that when I opened it. She can certainly be forgiven for not knowing that, though.
For Day 18, we have...
An Olds 442 of indeterminate origin!
Sorry, I’ve been digging though HobbyDB for 20 minutes looking for this one. I have no idea what year or series this one came from.
I’m pretty sure, based on the body lines and headlights that this should be a ‘70 model year.
For Day 19, we have...
The 2017 Surf’s Up 5-pack Volkswagen Caddy!
Our third model from this 5-pack, and easily my favorite. I’ve loved this model since it first appeared on the pegs.
Such a neat little trucklet, to boot. It’s a real shame that someone finally remembered, “Hey, that’s a 2-door truck that’s made in Europe and imported into the US” and applied the Chicken Tax to it back in the ‘80s. Oh, well.
For Day 20, we have...
...the 2008 Team series Baja Beetle! This time, in red.
Love the metallic red paint.
Maybe tomorrow I’ll round up all the Beetles so far and grab a pic. There’s been a bunch of them.
Now, a point of order. Back on Day 15, I opened a New Beetle Cup racer.
Commenter Mike Crimson pointed out something I hadn’t noticed...
Well, lookee there...I never noticed that tab. And what happens when we release the tab?
Yup! That body lifts right off. This makes the New Beetle Cup cast so much cooler. Thanks for pointing it out, Mike!
Sorry for the long catch-up post. There’s only 4 days left...I really hope I can keep up with those daily, because not doing so would be...well...really sad on my part.
Thanks for reading!
