And I’m just sitting here customizing cars, :p. Very cool and interesting developments on my end too!
So I decided to restrip the COE cab and the S-10, and re-primer them (is that a word, re-primer? If not, it is now). Why? Because the COE had two layers of paint + primer, which might mean the details wouldn’t be see as well. Same goes for the S-10. Actually, removing the paint from the COE was difficult with the many layers, so I’m glad I did it.
I painted it deep blue, the same one I used for the bed.
I then dry brushed the fender with a blue + gray + white mix. I was aiming for the used, worn look on something sitting in the sun to long and losing its color.
Proud of the fender results, I dry brushed the cab, focusing mainly on the top because sun discoloration.
I then felt the top was too dark still! So I added some more gray into the paint mix, and added a third shade of blue to it, :).
This isn’t the best pic, but you get the idea. I’m not done with the cab and fender yet, I feel like I can do more with it. I really want the worn look to continue because it just blends in a hot rod theme, :).
What does lald think of the custom so far? Despite not using a glossy paint, I really like the direction it's going, :D.
