The legend that started it all.

I was going to write up a big review on this thing, but why. You know what it is, I know what it is, plus it’s Tuesday. It’s a classic AutoArt with incredible detail and of course the prices have gotten way out of hand.

This one was on my Grail list for the longest time. Only a few have popped up in the last few years and they started at $350 when they did. AutoArt did also make a long wheelbase version of the 1988 car, but I needed the short wheelbase in white to match my other Group B beasts in my collection: the Kyosho Lancia 037 and Rickco Ford RS200. They also made a hunter green SWB model, but only white would do. I could have gone the cheaper route and picked up SunStar’s Quattro, but they only made the ‘88 car as well.

I never expected to actually get one, but that eBay alert finally came through with an auction starting at $100. I ended up the winner for $145. More than I usually spend but I haven’t been this excited to cross a car off my list in a long time.
