Nope not the Datsun/Nissan Z I’m talking about the 1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z.
Matchbox 1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z vs Hot Wheels Turbo Heater
Mattel didn’t quite have the rights to use the Dodge Daytona Turbo Z name/likeness they altered it slightly to not get in trouble.
Both had opening hoods with detailed engines the hot wheels having slightly better details
Both where released in or around 1983/84 matchbox having a larger size and with the proper licenses had nice badge details molded in (surprising a practice no longer seen)
Over all both are nice cars not too many variations about 5 or 6 for both and can be quite affordable depending on which one you want there are a few htf/rare ones but plenty of common colors. So if your a 80's kid or like cars from that era they are worth finding.
