Another Giorgetto Giugiaro designed Bread Box today. With an American twist. Because this ain’t your every day Golf, but the one that went all the way to the United States of America: The Rabbit.
So yeah: It has those hideous bumpers. Furthermore there’s not much to tell about the Golf/Rabbit but it was a game-changer: both for VW and the automotive world in general. But that’s a well-known story so I won’t bother you with that.
It is a Neo 1/43 cast. It is resin. And it has those issues with the photo-edged material Jaap van Dijk told us about when visiting Matrix: those trim-pieces seem to be loose a bit.
That trim piece on the passenger side door comes of totally... Furthermore I expected Neo to have the proportions of those doors a bit off: the front doors seem to be way smaller than the rear ones which seems odd to me. But checking 5-door Rabbits confirmed this was in fact the case.
That part-Portuguese title of this post is to trigger Edu to check this post as his letter arrived with an epic book on that awesome Brazilian company Gurgel. So I need to practice my Portuguese a bit. THANKS EDU! Very thoughtful! And there is some VW-connection in there.
So nothing more for today, I’ll just let the simplicity of Giugario’s design do that talking.
Just those bumpers...
Okay: One more teaser for tomorrow:
Das war es wieder, hope to see some British Bread Boxes today actually... Tschüss und Danke Eduardo!
