Big things with little cars
Big things with little cars

I’ve lamented on here many times about never finding Treasure Hunts on the pegs as several members have posted their latest TH finds. It seems like no matter how mush I look, I can’t seem to ever find any of them. So I decided to look through my casts for potential trade bait when I came across something I had never noticed before.
Before I get too far I need to fill in some history. Back in 2001, I was preparing to get married. One of the things you do is register for gifts but we didn’t want to burden our families too much so we registered at Target. Now we all know that the wedding and the gifts are all about the women, but I was hoping for a little something just for me, so I scanned a random Hot Wheel. Well my wife’s aunt came through for me and I got some!

I smile, because it was truly a great day. We were married 10 days after the September 11 attacks and our reception was being held on the United States Air Force Academy. As you can imagine, things went into disarray for a bit after the attacks with regards to our reception but it all worked out in the end, thanks to some understanding people at the USAFA. So yesterday, I was re-organizing my non-Mustang bin and looking through all of the different vehicles when I came across my wedding casts (those will be for a different day) and I smiled as I usually do. Then I noticed this...

Yep! I have a Treasure Hunt! This has been with me for nearly 14 years and this is the first time I actually noticed this small detail. I’m not all that into motorcycles so I never really looked at it closely other than to smile and remember so that’s why I never saw it.

As far as motorcycles go, I like it. The pinstripes on the tank are well done and it’s a really nice gold color. I would never have though to get rid of it because of the attachment I have to it, but now, when I look at it, I can smile for two reasons.

Sorry for the lengthy story and thanks for reading!
