One of the more highly-coveted pieces from UT Models is the BMW M Coupe. Better known as the “Clownshoe” for its oddball shape, this car has all the makings of a future classic.
Earlier this year, I chanced upon one of these in an auction and lucked out in the final seconds. Practically brand new with hardly a scratch on it—to my surprise—I think I made a rather clean getaway for just around $110 all told. That sounds egregious for a 20-year-old-plus model with average detail (though accuracy to source material is superb for its age), but these are becoming increasingly harder to come by, particularly in Estoril Blue. Besides Phoenix Yellow, which UT does not make, I wouldn’t have it in any other color.
