Big things with little cars

Collectible Flea Market Scores!

Hit up a local collectible toy fair yesterday, in hopes of finding diecasts. Action figures abounded, but very little in the way of diecasts (non-Batmobiles, anyway). I’m not a big action figure guy, but it was fun to see a lot of the vintage stuff they had. The girlfriend was digging the various incarnations of Joker figures, so at least she was rewarded for her patience with me. As it happened, down the street was an antique AND collectible flea market, and I figured I’d find some stuff there, and I was right.

I did find some items to take home at both, but actually passed a lot of stuff by at the second, particularly a LOT of Lesneys…so many Lesneys. I wanted to indulge, but I also didn’t want to piss off the girlie..just grabbed a couple. I did see some Redlines, but I’m not allowing myself to fall down that particular hole.

Here’s what I got…

Lesneys -Land Rover and Ford Pickup. Both in nice shape.

MB Golf GTI with Box. I ended up overpaying slightly for this but it was one of the only things I found at the first place and didn’t want to leave empty handed.

I found this Magnum PI Sunagon also at the first place…this one is a lot of fun.

Also picked up some nice carded stuff. Been on the lookout for the F&F STI, and ‘Golden Era” MBs are always on my list.

The Hot Ones firebird I was pretty excited by, but I didn’t realize till I got home that it was a recent re-issue and not actually from the 80s. all were pretty cheap though.

I did score some 80s goodness, two carded MBs. I definitely had the yellow Firebird as a kid, but have yet to unearth it. Leaving these carded.

Overall, really happy with the day. I got some fun stuff, didn’t spend too much, didn’t piss off my patient lady, and saw a lot of interesting items…and people.
