The conversation went a little bit like this:
Dad: “Are you going to keep any of the cars?”
Me: “Yeah, I’ll keep some of them!”
Dad: “Well, if you come across any duplicate muscle cars, I’ll take a couple.”
Me: “Fair enough.” (I say that waayy too much....)
As you can see, I did set a few cars aside for my father. Now, most of them are duplicates. Most of the duplicates are Mopars, since, that was his brand of choice growing up. I think that I ended up keeping all of the Duster/Demon casts. One of them was in my brothers stash, a couple more are coming up at a later date, but, most of them are in this mix. The reason for this is that my dad has owned a particular 1974 Duster since the early 1980's except for a 10 year period where my uncle owned it instead. It has since been returned to my fathers’ ownership where it has spent the last few years getting very slowly restored.
The forklifts were set aside because he currently works for a fork truck and mid-size equipment repair company and the Land Rovers are because he previously worked for the 4x4 Center in Vermont, which specializes in Land Rover restorations and all manner of 4x4 stuff.
The Mercs came about because, in the last couple years, he has started to dabble in older(ish) Mercedes’ that need some help...like a CLK55 that needed a full front clip and should be done soon, so I’m looking forward to getting hold of that for a couple days!
