Alright, this is it! The last post about this collection (actually...not really, I do have a couple more....). But, it is the last post about the cars themselves!
These are the cars I set aside for myself. I split them into three sections.
1) These are the cars that hold sentimental value to myself, as they are cars that I had a special bond with as a child. The Cadillac, the Mustang and the Winnebago were the actual cars I had growing up!
Then there’s this red 540k. When I was little, my grandmother had a pool, and during a summer I spent with her (instead of normal daycare), she taught me how to swim. She told me one day, that if I could swim across the pool without touching the bottom, she would take me to get a new car...and this is the one I chose!
Next up, these are the cars that I set aside because I associate them with memories of Shawn (the original collector):
This Camaro was set aside because it looks just like the one he and I rented for a massive road trip from Vermont to Florida after we learned he wasn’t going to make it much longer:
The rental car (that’s Shawn standing with it!):
And then this Mazda6 is a duplicate of his first brand new car, bought through me!
The rest are just cars that I remember us playing with together:
And then there are these cars, which, frankly, I kept them because I wanted to!
Anyway, thank you guys so much for everything! It’s going to feel weird to not have lots and lots of posts about die-cast cars in the works, but, I am so glad I was able to share this collection with you guys! Now I have to see what I can do about getting the remaining cars out of my garage!!
I wish the best for everyone here, and I appreciated all of the help and information you guys have provided over the last year of these posts!
I do have a couple more things in mind to post about, but, until then: Thank you!
