Then comes this yellow 510 Wagon, which had been in the project-car purgatory for months.

The base was de chromed by soaking it in hydrochloric acid (aka “muriatic acid”), and subsequently painted matte black. Details such as the lights were added. Also, the black window surrounds made the blue windows more pleasing to the eyes.

The wheels started life as ugly Tomica 4-spokes. Their faces were painted silver while the spokes were kept black. The axles were bent to give them a slight negative camber. The result looks like classic JDM 4-spoke rims. Talk about junk turned gold!
