This custom came about as I was watching the movies again on Blu Ray, looking for pics of Biff's Auto Detailing Truck. Even though Griff's car is only on screen a few minutes I always liked the car. Having said that this was no easy custom to make. First off neither Hot Wheels or Matchbox makes a 1/64th BMW 633i, after looking on ebay I couldn't find anyone who made one. So I did the next best thing, I started cutting up cars. The base of the vehicle is BMW 850i with the front end and roof cut off of it. The grill of the car comes from a BMW M3, I went with the M3 front end because it was closest I could get to the headlights and grill configuration. I used some JB Weld to fit the two pieces together and sanded it down to give a nice uniform look. After I figured out the front end I went on to making the wheels and hover parts. Instead of having a traditional axle I built the wheel covers for the hover conversion and mounted the wheels to each disk instead of having an axle through the car. This allowed me to get the wheels nice and close so it looks like version in the movies. The final part of the car was the hood scoop and, rear seat cover and tail fin, those were all made with greenstuff epoxy putty and then sanded down. The whole cars got several coats of paint as well a few coats of matte clear coat. Overall I like how this turned out and I think it makes a great addition to my Back to the Future car collection.
