I have built many Lego trucks over the years. I have definitely developed my own style to do so. Here’s a couple examples. The yellow one I first built in middle school, and it has looked more or less like this since high school. The blue one I built a few weeks ago. Not exactly the same, but very similar. I have several others that are all unique in their own ways, but fit into this style.
This latest truck doesn’t fit that style at all. It’s very different. I started building it by taking a look at these three perimeter box frame Technic pieces that I had received in a big bag of bulk Lego pieces I purchased.
I decided that linking them together, they made a good vehicle frame. Being Technic pieces, I used wheels that would slot into them. From there I just free-styled around until I ended up with this. I played around a lot with different windshields, cab configurations and roof lines, before settling on this extended cab configuration.
The end result was this heavy duty looking, but rather slammed down low truck.
It looks like it the front wheel rubs the top of the fender, but it doesn’t quite. The truck rolls quite nicely.
I don’t see myself building another one like it, but I’m rather happy with the results of this build.
