Bouncing directly off of RockyClock's post regarding old cop cars...
This poor soul, a 1969 Mercury Monterey, started out as a Fire Chief special (Matchbox SuperFast 59B) on its way to the junkyard. Horribly chipped paint, missing/faded decals, fogged up windows and pseudo-chromed wheels were the primary symptoms. It was truly play-worn.
She became an unmarked police cruiser.
Normally I wouldn't restore a car like this, due to its age. But, it was so beat up that I had to help.
Stripped, primered, re-painted gloss white, then coated in Pledge Floor Care.
The tires are a little rough, but I didn't want to paint them. The police car will go into my son's fleet.
Above is an example of what she resembled prior to restoration. Just imagine one in about 100% worse shape. :)
