We celebrated Christmas with my parents yesterday and I actually received more diecast from my parents than my boys did!
Anyway, I thought this was a pretty crazy find that he made. I’m pretty excited about it. He knows what I like, and he made a very unique find.
He was in one of those Christmas shops with my mom, probably the kind filled with little trinkets and lots of seasonal potpourri, you know? Well, he spots a random cardboard box with some unopened cars in it. So he gave me these first four wrapped as a gift.
Check this one out!! So cool.
Panoz LMP!! In an awesome livery.
The Ferrari 156 F1 in spectraflame with real-riders!
So I was totally stoked to open these, obviously. They’re so cool, and I think they’re all from a series from 2002, so they’re pretty old as well.
Then I asked him if there were more at that store, because if there were I’d like to go look through them to see what else I could find.
He said something like, “Actually, I bought the whole box!”
So here’s the rest of what he gave me.
These MBX are on long cards to accommodate those license plates. Some of these cards are pretty worn, and all of this stuff smells a little bit. Not sure if it’s from a smoker’s home, or some water-damage mildew smell or what.
This truck camper is pretty cool, though the wheels are a bit strange.
This Lincoln has a cheetah pattern in the flames. It’s crazy.
This Viper has some spots on the actual car. Not sure if it’s from water or what, so it might need to be customized completely. And a nice Callaway!
8 split-windows on real-riders with detailed decos!!! These are fantastic, and there will be customs. Unbelievable.
Here’s the whole crazy stash. I couldn’t believe it. Especially the fact that the multiples were of such a great car, the split-window Corvette!
I’m not sure yet what I’m keeping and what I’m making available for trade, though I’m probably keeping most of it. Some will probably end up as wheel donors. I’m not partial to the Matchbox, other than that orange Truck Camper. Anyway, I’ve never seen most of this stuff before, so it’s pretty cool to get!
