Big things with little cars
Big things with little cars

From last night's post about my original Deora, there has since been a request for a head-to-head match-up for the Deora I and Deora II. Let's do this.

On the left we have the reigning champion, the Deora I! On the right we have the contender, the Deora II!

Already we can see the contender is noticeably more bulbous. Also those awful 5-dot wheels. Looks like this might not be a hard fight for the reigning champ. That side-intake however hints at some serious power for Deora II.

Classic, sharp lines for the Deora I.

And you can definitely tell the Deora II got its looks in the early 2000's. That's not a good thing. When it comes to radical concept cars. Yes that front end is based on the back-end of a late-model taurus.

Do they have surfboards? Why yes! It's pretty equal in this area. The Deora II does have a monster V8 mounted transversely in the back...but that big loopy wing is turrible.

The Deora I looks a bit like an indifferent robot, whereas the Deora II looks like it is hiding a gaping maw that is about to swallow us whole. I can see the grill expanding widely to kills us all.

I am going to have to give the reigning champ the win! The Deora II came in with some new ideas and some crazy styling, but unfortunately it chose styling that aged incredibly quick.

I would also like to note that the Deora I pictured is the first Deora released by Hot Wheels and the Deora II pictured is the first Deora II released by Hot Wheels...crazy!
