Dirty Dozen: 9: mrs zeontestpilot ver.

Hello fellow LALDiecast people, its time for another Dirty Dozen post, where I go through my childhood cars and see if anything pops out or is interesting.

Actually, that isn't completely true, this weeks car's were hand-picked by my lovely [gorgeous] wife. She made a passing reference to picking out the cars this week and I thought "why not?" So she picked out the cars, handed them to me, and then told me to review them.

Matchbox Chevrolet Corvette [1979] - This guy's design is interesting, reminds me of a heart monitor. But I do love the greenish-blue color, off-set by the white and pink. It actually says 'corvette' on the back bumper, which is a nice detail to add.

Hot Wheels [1975] - This little guy is cool. You keep pulling him back to build up power, then press the spoiler (which is missing), and he drives forward. The tires are rubber to get a good grip. I have another one, somewhere, so maybe it was a series? Anyone have any more info on this?

Matchbox Pontiac Firebird SE [1982] - I thought it was interesting that they put the trim level on the car. From what my research tells me, the S/E trim level was the mid-range trim for '82. Still, I love this black color and the 'firebird' across the hood. Epic is surely the word here.

Hot Wheels [1979] - A C3 Corvette, and a cheapo one as well. Plastic body and bottom, which is sort of disappointing. The mold itself looks pretty great. I really hoped there is a diecast version of the car...somewhere....

Hot Wheels [1979] - And this is a plastic one as well, albeit with an interesting green color, which I don't think does it any justice. What I do love is the lightning bolt across it, that is epic. I can hear the engine reving on it...

Hot Wheels [1982] - It doesn't state it, but its obviously a third gen Camaro, and I love this car, especially the unnecessary blower on the hood. The color is sublime as well, and the arrows on the hood pointing in the only direction it should go. Forget what I said about hearing the Corvette rev, I can hear this guy reving instead....

Matchbox Chevrolet Corvette [1979][SuperFast] - I didn't realize it but this is the same mold as the heart monitor one above! I have to say, I like this guy better. The strips across the body to it a insane amount of justice, and I'm digging the yellow body.

Hot Wheels [1993] - Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is a Dodge Demon. I have a Demon in the same color, but different stripes, but I can't find it to confirm. Regardless, this is probably my most recent of the dirty cars, copyright in '93. Still a cool guy though.

Hot Wheels Camaro z-28 [1982] - Just says Camaro, nothing about Chevrolet, which I thought was interesting. I'm not crazy for the blacked-out windows, though I do enjoy the mold.

Hot Wheels [1977] - A funny car! By far my most favorite out of this batch. I was actually saving this one for another post, but my wife got to it before I could! Anyways, I love the red sparkly color, the graphics, and the [essentially] painted on headlights. It really feels like a real funny car.

Hot Wheels [1988] - I thought it was interesting that this was chosen, as she isn't really crazy about the beetle. I love this color on it the mold, very 'tropical', plus the pink graphics on the side and roof, excellent design choice. What is it about beetles that people have to make it tropical-themed? What ever they are doing, keep it up! I love it!

Matchbox Pontiac [1979][Superfast] - This guy is pretty cool. I'm loving the gray body color and the firebird emblem on the hood and sides. I noticed that the t-tops are pretty large on this mold, not sure if that's how it was on the 1:1 scale car or a design choice by Matchbox. Anyone know?
