Digging through some of my loose cars from my childhood. I stumbled upon this MC Toy Golf GTI. It’s horrendous gray paintjob seems ho-hum at first. But, something clicked in my head... A distant childhood memory tucked away in the recesses of my mind for 20+ years. I exhaled a deep breath at the battered old car and, sure enough, it started to turn green.
It’s not in the best of shape. The front end seems to have suffered some rally damage from going off course. But, overall, the paint is 95% intact. The front axle is getting some extra resistance on the left front. Not sure if something got wedged in there.
Our beloved cat, Chewbacca, has grown attached to sleeping on the same exact spot where I like to take pictures of my cars... Cats <3. So, she insisted on being in the frame despite my repeated attempts to bribe her out of the room.
After a few seconds under hot water. The GTI comes out a totally different car. Well... not really... It’s the same car but with a different unflattering horrendous color that only seemed like a good idea in the 80's.
Fully completed custom in 15 seconds flat. BEAT THAT!
“I could knock this on the floor... I really could...”
