I’m continuing to stockpile wrecked Lesneys for future customization. This eBay lot for a too-good-to-pass-up $8 really gave me a lot to play with. Or did it?...

Several of these I didn’t have in my collection yet, which is a plus. The ebay seller mentioned that these were good for parts or restore. The pictures weren’t very detailed and I knew some of these were the wrong color. I figured that someone hand painted a few and had some fun. Wow, was I wrong.

Whoever customized 7 of these cars did a great job! The rivets are properly drilled out. Which means, they took the car apart for a repaint. Sadly, it looks like all of them got played with after the customization. But, an interesting find.

The gold paint on the VW isn’t the best... There’s also blue paint smudged on the windscreen. I think this might have multiple layers of paint on it.

The Jeep sure looks menacing in all black!

Brown on this Diplomat is quite amazing. Has a nice undercover police car look.

The cougar is pretty cool. I’m not totally in love with the new color.

Holy mother of god. Blue looks amazing on this Mercury wagon.

The Impala has a terrific shade of red. It’s too bad it is playworn. The color is incredible on this car.

New paintjob and then another 100K miles...

Oddly, this rolls looks like it was dropped in a bucket of pink paint and then washed. The entire interior is hot pink. The exterior has remnants of pink here and there. I really want to restore this one somehow... As I did not have this car in my Lesney collection until now.
