Epic Duel

I was unable to find a Porsche 911 GT1 to make this a three way battle, but nonetheless I had to do this. I set up my 3 lane Super Speedway playset, and let them loose!

This shot was surprisingly difficult to get, and required two people because unfortunately, the big wings on the backs of these two cars meant the vertical boosters on the play set didn't work very well on them, so I had to cheat a little and have my assistant nudge them up the bank leading to this straight.

I'll tell you what WASN'T faked, this Honda CRX. Talk about a dark horse.

The poor Corvette also struggled around the banks. The Bentley Continental (white) gave the CRX a good challenge though.

At the end of the day, this was not a sprint but an endurance race, and the CRX ran like a clock. The Vette nicked the low sidewalls at the lane changers too often and ran out of momentum as a result. The Bentley kept up with the CRX but every 15-20 laps, it would run off track. The CRX not only didn't crash once, it also carried enough speed through the banks to knock other cars out of its lane and keep going! I think I have a new track star.

THE WINNER!

So there you have it, folks. A 1985 Honda CRX is faster than a Mercedes CLK-GTR and a McLaren F1 GTR.
