Another 599. This time, your run-of-the-mill 599 GTB Fiorano. In 1/18 scale, from Hot Wheels Elite.
I shied away from this model at first because of the undersized wheels. When I came across this one for around $60 shipped on eBay, with no other bidders, I thought it was worth taking a chance. After all, y’all know how much I love the 599. As it normally goes with diecast models, flaws are not as bad in person as they are in photos. The 5-spoke “star” wheels like the ones shown here get a lot of hate, but I personally like them.
My favorite aspect of this model is the interior. Tan is a great, great color for a GT Ferrari like the 599, and Hot Wheels uses some nice materials, particularly the felt for the carpeting. I feel like I could live in there. As a bonus, the trunk holds two Ferrari-branded luggage pieces - something which my GTO model did not have.
Overall, the level of detail and the quality of the GTB is not as nice as it is on the GTO, but this one can be had for about half the price. Color me impressed. I think it’s time to find me an Enzo.
