You heard that right.
I swear it was not a setup. I walked into Target and found these two older Zamacs just hanging there. Must’ve been a return that some hoarder couldn’t sell off. The cards were a bit beat, but I was happy just to be able to find them. I don’t think I’ve found a single Zamac release in more than 3 or 4 years, so these were a welcome sight. I’m not a Zamac collector per se, but these are castings that I don’t mind having and are even better in their unpainted forms.
Then, I went to Walmart, where I found the most recent wave of Zamacs. I never picked up any of their regular mainline forms, for various reasons, but the shininess sealed the deal on these.
The Corvette I was on the fence about, but the casting was not quite up to par. The Fiesta, despite all the talk about the throwback design, I couldn’t accept for its white tires. The Firebird was just plain ugly IMO in its dark red and flames guise, not to mention those ill-fitting PR5's. But when you take the paint off these and throw in some different colors on the decals, they magically become more appealing.
