First:43 wasn’t a company that I had any firsthand knowledge of or experience with, however, when I saw they were releasing two 1/43 models of the SVX, I knew I had to get them. I have to say, I’m not disappointed.
Overall, the cars are pretty nice, however, there are some flaws and inaccuracies. First of which was on the box - the box for the white car said “Arcyone” rather than “Alcyone”...
Other gripes: The “waterfall” grille is chrome, rather than clear plastic as it should be, and the fit on the mirrors could be a bit better. The Pearl White car is actually painted gloss white (the Liquid silver car is actually metallic), and the paint is a bit thick in places (not so on the silver car). I will give bonus points for the deck-lid and roof being painted in black - something that Kyosho didn’t do on their 1:64 cars. Lastly, there is no SVX or Alcyone SVX marking on the center taillight panel - something that Kyosho did do on their 1:64 cars.
There are other things I could point out, but it’s easy to be critical. The First:43 Alcyone SVX is a very solid diecast - the 1:43 scale is nice to see, but the detailing leaves a bit to be desired for the price.
My recommendation: if you’re only looking to get one, get the silver version, as it seems to be the better of the two.
