Flea Market HAWL

This Sunday was the first time this season I made it to my favorite outdoor flea market. I’d remembered various vendors selling diecasts, everything from MOC to buckets of smashed wrecks. So now that I was collecting again I was really looking forward to it.

I ended up spending a lot of time(and money) hunting up interesting castings. Fortunately not only is my partner eternally patient, but she’s made it clear that she likes watching me indulge in the things that I enjoy.

So in addition to the ‘50 Ford Stepvan, I came home with lots of new vehicles. Most of the commercial vehicles(tow truck, mail van, ice cream truck, pizza van, VW panel van, & Mercedes ambulance) came from one vendor who’s prices seemed to depend on how good he thought your taste in vehicles was.

Another vendor was trying to sell a kids sand bucket full of assorted diecasts & McDonalds toys. She made it clear that the cars where $1 each or $4 for the bucket and its contents. I bought the whole thing and got the four semis, the MAN crane truck above, the JADA ford pickup and the Escort rally car.

So while I spent far more than I’d planned, I also got some cool vehicles I’d been hoping for. All in all a good HAWL. The hard part is gong to be restraining myself next time.

Oh and a bonus for those who scrolled this far, a couple of Saver’s finds. The UPS truck is up for trade if anyone is interested.
