Hello, and welcome. Let me share my tricks on the suspension flex, as someone asked for it earlier. I hope you find it useful. I started to make the zipties suspension about two years ago, and I’ve been fiddling with it to get a perfect setting. After a million or so trials, I finally get it done properly. Let’s get cracking.
So here’s all you need . Some zipties, and sewing noodles. Needles... Sorry.
AAnd that’s it. Tie the axle with the zippers, like this. You can use brass tubes,or if you’re feeling rich, styrene tubes.
Glue the other end to the base.
Looks good enough. But we’re not done yet. The zipties will give you the flex, but not strong enough to hold the weight. That’s where the needles come in handy.
sing some clips, make U-shaped frame, like in the picture. Glue the needles on the frame, arrange them like so. Now it’s done. Easy, right? You might need to paint it, though. I usually finish it off with putty to add some more strength, because sometimes glue alone just not strong enough.
Now let’s see how it looks.
Works just fine. Flexing pretty good. Enough talking. Let’s try some. Okay, that’s it. Have fun!!
