This is one of Flying Lizard Motorsport’s 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans entries- a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR recreated in resin by Spark in 1/43 scale. 2011 was one of two years FLM ran art cars with wild liveries that differed from their normal paint schemes.
This particular car was run in the GTE Pro class. Unfortunately, the team’s performance did not quite live up to the car’s looks. The car qualified 12th in class (out of 18), but did manage to finish the race a respectable 6th in class and 18th overall. It was driven by veteran drivers Jörg Bergmeister, Lucas Luhr, and Patrick Long.
The accuracy with which Spark recreated the livery on this car is just astounding. All the fine, crazy details look absolutely great both in-hand and in photos. There’s a whole lot of detail packed on a pretty small canvas.
The interior is fully detailed as well. Check out the red harness!
Pictures really do not do the paint on this one justice.
