Big things with little cars

Fooling around with Markers

Have you ever made custom paint jobs and decals for your Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars when you were young? Well, I sure did and that part of me hasn't really left.

Many of us can relate to the lack of tampo-work seen especially on Hot Wheels, I thought I'd take a shot at correcting that. Since my Gunpla (Gundam model kits) hobby has died due to studies, it would be a waste to see them collecting dust.

Gundam Markers are a great tool to lift the details Bandai give to their kits, since I haven't been building any kits for over a year why not carry over their use onto Hot Wheels?

I have a few loose cars that ended up as test subjects and I'm quite satisfied with the effect at the end. Gundam Markers are oil-based and set pretty quickly on painted surfaces, therefore any mistakes have to be corrected quickly.

Here're the cars that met my personal touches...

Come to think of it, would this be qualified under the "Custom" tag?
