Now that Lewis Hamilton has all but ensured his 5th Formula One Drivers Championship with 4 races to go, I wanted to post one of this cars this week. I had already posted the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 W05 Hybrid as part of the LaLD Car week. and so it is time for the W07 Hybrid that he drove in 2016.

The W07 Hybrid was the 7th F1 car from Mercedes since their 2010 return as a constructor (after they brought out Ross Brawn’s F1 team. After running in the 20 races that made up the 2016 Formula One season, the car has the honor of being the second most dominant F1 car in the sports history (with only the 1988 McLaren MP4/4 topping it).

At the end of the season, the F1 W07 Hybrid ended up with a total of 19 wins, 20 pole positions, 33 podiums with Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton finishing 1-2 in the drivers championship and Mercedes winning the Constructor’s championship for the 3rd time in a row.

This is the 1/43 scale model of Lewis Hamilton’s #44 Mercedes F1 W07 Hybrid made by BBurago. Now that I think of it, I already have Hamilton’s championship winning W05 Hybrid. So may be, I should have chosen to acquire Rosberg’s #6 car (which was also available with the same seller) since it was Rosberg’s maiden championship and he retired from Formula One immediately afterward.

So now I am thinking that I will still get the #6 just for the historical value. And that one, I should shoot against a plain background. This time though, I was going for a night race feel with this shoot and I think it came out decently well too.
