If you’ve read my blog on the Datsun 510 BRE, I indicated that it was known as the ‘Poor Man’s BMW’. Now let’s explore another race car, this time a BMW with the wonderful BMW 2002 ti, Winner of the 24 Hrs of Nürburgring 1970, #36 Hans-Joachim Stuck by Minichamps.

Quite a long name if I may add but that is how they describe it when I got this model from Diecast Select during their close out sale. It was released by Minichamps in 2014 and made only 2,060 pieces. This is a truly remarkable replica of the real car.

This was based on a car driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck, a German racing driver who has competed in Formula One and many other categories. He was born on January 1, 1951 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
