Today I have a Matchbox Sahara Sweeper. The real life counterpart to this model is the Chenowth Scorpion Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV) or Fast Attack Vehicle (FAV).

The Sahara Sweeper is a lightweight dune buggy that focuses on speed and mobility more than brute force. The DPV is often used by special forces and for recon missions.

These dune buggies have seating for 3 soldiers, not making them the most practical for transporting troops.

While this scale model is unarmed, these buggies can be equipped with heavy machine guns like the Browning M2 or a mounted grenade launcher.

The DPV has a VW air-cooled engine that produces 200 horsepower and gives the buggy a top speed of over 50 miles per hour.
