Big things with little cars

Disappointment. The greatest gift of all...

Now that the results of the theme day contest have been published you all understand that my great love for the French cars makes me tres désolé. The French never took anything official seriously though so I guess I continu with the small French collection I have anyway. Maybe rename the series to something French.

You probably recognized it already: This is an Alpine A110. Rally-trim. I think the A110 is one of the best looking cars ever and the fact the value of these in real life have sky-rocketed the last 10+ years: I suspect I'm not the only one. And I think you all know a bit of it's history so I'll leave that out of this post.

It's another model from Norev's 'Racing Retro', like the Simca 1000 Rallye I showed a couple of weeks ago.

I'm really impressed with the quality of these Norevs. Just look at the matching 3-lug wheels.

At first I thought it to be a kid's car meant for the female kind it being this 'Hello Kitty'-pink. But this actually was a thing back in the days:

Just that camber isn't as correct as the original I suppose but I haven't seen camber in car-models a lot. Not all the sponsors seem to be in te right place, the model just misses two rally-lights. But when you look inside it seems pretty legit with that stitching.

Just those rims should be somewhat wider as these look like bicycle tires!

So again: Not sure if the 'Au Revoir' actually means goodbye as I have lots of French models left to display. At least the Teutonic Tuesday seems to have made it one way or the other.
