Hello LaLD!

Philipilihp has given me the chance to show off some of my handy work here at LaLD. First I’ll introduce myself.

My name is Tim, I live in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan, near Traverse City. I’ve been collecting Hot Wheels and other various diecasts since I was a kid.

I’m a huge fan of auto racing and auto racing history. I also spend far too much time playing the Forza Motorsport series of games.

What got Philipilihp’s attention was my comment on his Urban Outlaw post. I shared a couple of pictures of the Hot Wheels I’ve converted to retractable USB storage drives, used mainly for saving the photos I’ve taken in Forza Motorsport.

I never expected that someone would ask me to document a build so I have no pictures of the process from these two or the several before them.

Recently I had some of my Hot Wheels out in the living room and I left a few mystery cars sitting out overnight. I found that one of my golden doodles found them and decided to shred the package. The mystery car was the Triumph TR6. I have a regular line car that I planned to customize, but the mystery car was already opened so I’ve begun it’s transformation.

I have several photos of the build that will become the TR6 of my favorite race team, Group 44. The first step was converting it to left hand drive!

I’m excited to be a part of the LaLD group and hope all of you will enjoy what I have to share in the future!
