Welcome again to another DLM cars from 1/64 and smaller and sometimes larger. On my 58th post is a small but great looking black Käfer from Greenlight.

This is the 1938 Volkswagen Split Window Beetle from the Black Bandit Series 12.

When the Johnny Lightning brand was still using the Black Bandit name on one of their series they also introduced the split window beetle with 1950 as the model year. I acquired that model when Johnny Lightning was still at its peak. Then in 2004, the series name went over to Greenlight and by series 12 also released a VW split window beetle under the Black Bandit name in glossy black. Getting this was a no brainer as it is a nice looking casting which I hoped to compare with the Johnny Lightning in the future.

What makes a Black Bandit a Black Bandit? According to Greenlight, each car is produced with a triple-black theme; black body paint, black interior detail and custom black wheels. The triple-black theme is the distinguishing characteristic of these “outlaw” vehicles.

Are there any features on this model? Certainly! Check out the opening features.

Other features also include rubber tires and metal body and chassis. I’m happy to say the only issue I had was the rear bumper partially blocking the trunk from being opened and had to be push down slightly.
