So part of my daily routine it seems is going to my local Oreilly Auto Parts store to get car/motorcycle parts which never seems to end. At this store I have bought many diecasts from their small display and am always keeping an eye out there for new stock. Now this store has been around in my town since about 2007 when it opened up and I actually worked there at one point in 2009. Now within this stores diecast display there has always been a familiar face which has been a seafoam green Audi R8 from Matchbox.
Not a car I ever felt I HAD to have but had thought about many times while waiting in line to checkout. Today was the day that changed. The R8 had always been there waiting and is marked 2007 on the sad faded card which I felt sorry for. I bought it up to give it a good home!
Home and soon after DLM’d!
Another reason I bought it was to give it some needed attention in the looks department. Now this car is really good as it has front and rear tampos but due to that fact naturally will not have side tampos. I wanted to black out the rear panels that these cars are known for.
I also wanted to black out the roof while I had the paint out so I taped it off.
After some color I think it looks like it should. A better life ahead!
Not my finest work but basic and completes the look. Overall I feel I did my good deed today even if it is just a small diecast car.
