I was watching my nephews playing with their toys recently, and I got to thinking about the toys I had growing up in the Eighties. Strangely enough, I remembered the texture of the tires on Schaper Stompers quite vividly, and it was off to eBay I went. I haven't picked up any of the battery operated models yet, but I did grab a lot of 10 McDonalds Mini-Stompers:
They're in remarkable shape, not rusty or dirty, with crisp tampos.
Not so lucky is the Knight Industries Two Thousand from Darda that I found in a box of toys last week:
The pull-back motor still works though!
Of more recent vintage are two Maisto kits I found in the same box.
A 2006 Mustang:
The engine had a few tampos, but it and the underside were mostly black plastic out of the box, so I painted them for a little more realism.
