A 1/64 one. I’m super cheap, and didn’t want to spend $80+ on a premade garage, that may or may not fit my diorama. So I decided to make my own.

It’s a literal learning experience. The 1/64 garage was supposed to be 8" deep, 6.5" wide, and 4" tall. Except, because I forgot some parts overlap, it’s actually 8" deep, 7" wide, and 4.5" tall.

Below I’m laying everything out to get an idea of how I want it to look. One issue I discovered is that each piece of wood is .25" thick. So adding it to the top and bottom adds more height. It was not intentional, but it’s good to be aware of going forward.

Laying out the body of the building. My original plan was a four garage building, 9" long, but I decided to try a 3 garage building that was smaller. So I ignored my original plans and made everything up as I went along.

The layout of each wall. I added a human sized door on one frame. I later realized that it was too tall, in 1/1 scale it would be 8' tall! So I’ll fix that later on.

Layout of the garage with the base pieces cut. You can see where the three garage openings will be.

And I started glueing things together...

Below is what I have as of yesterday. I’m waiting for one frame to bend back into place, otherwise I’d have to make it again. :/.

I’m excited about it! It’s turning out quite nicely! :).
