Keeping Track

Question of the day.

I've seen some of the word documents and spreadsheets you guys have made, but out of curiosity, I inquire this:

"How do you guys keep track of your collections?"

A little backstory for the newer members, my collection started before I could walk, before I could remember. I'm happy to report that I still possess many of my childhood diecast, but many were lost. However, I never really stopped, and my 1:64 collection now sits close to 3,000 cars. Well over a third of those are Hot Wheels alone, with Matchbox taking the closest thing that resembles a second place finish.

Anyways, for the new guys and everyone to see, here is the meat of my collection, in Creative Organizers cases:

But, I digress. Back to the question, how do most of you guys keep track of your beloved diecast?

Here are a few screenshots of my methods. First is a spreadsheet that lets me keep a mental hold on what I have and what I want:

Second are separate folders of each diecast make, which quickly and easily allows me to visually identify and sort through the collection:

So once again, what methods do you guys use? Tell me and our faithful fellow LaLD'ers all about it in the comments below!
