GreenLight has announced their fourth set of killer retro monster trucks, and this one looks to be the best yet. Let’s cut to the chase: Bigfoot 5 is getting immortalized in true, 1:64 scale. GreenLight got me hooked on this set with Bigfoot 1. I’ve got USA-1 and the Krimson Krusher on the way from eBay, and now they drop this on me!
For those gearheads younger than me, Bigfoot #5 was the ultimate monster truck. This 1986 Ford F-250 was fitted with 10 foot tires (yes, 10 feet) originally used on an experimental overland train that was developed by the US Army in the 50’s. An overland train is exactly what it sounds like, basically a train that doesn’t need rails to ride on. It owns the world record for tallest, widest, and heaviest pickup ever. I can’t wait to see what 10' tires scaled down to 1:64 look like!
Other highlights in the set include a “dirty version” of the USA-1 and another variation of Bigfoot #1 with 66" tires. Look for these to hit the pegs in July.
GreenLight also has an upcoming Collector Event on May 10th. The gathering will take place at GreenLight’s Indianapolis office from 10am-2pm. Collectors can buy directly from their warehouse, meet the GL team, play games for prizes, and a bunch more. Registration is free. Hit the link for more info!
