Big things with little cars

First off, this ties in with the actual car week in Monterey as the famous BMW you see here is being auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s this weekend as part of the BMW Motorsport collection of Henry Schmidt. Click the link for some in depth information on this car.

The 1975 IMSA season was the pinnacle of this cars career, racking up multiple race wins including an impressive win at the 12 hours of Sebring. At just over a thousand kilos and making 430 horsepower the inline 3.5 6 cylinder could rocket this car to nearly 170mph and had the bodywork to justify it!

This 1:18 dealer model from Minichamps is a lovely sealed diecast model with plenty of detail and good weight. I picked it up from a BMW dealership on EBAY that was selling them at an insanely good price and you should to! I opted to remove the window net as it was a bit too bulky for my taste, otherwise no complaints here. This car literally looks impressive from any angle! Enjoy!
