I’d already featured Schuco’s vintage BMW 520 earlier this year, but I’ve been busy the past week, so I shall bring it out again to feature for LaLD Engine Week.
The engine under the hood is the M10 4-cylinder engine, similar to the ones used in the earlier BMW 2000 and 2002. The version in the 520 is carburetted, and produces around 115 hp.
The M10 under the hood here is pretty accurate and detailed, and particularly so for being from a ~45 year old casting. The engine here is actually just a molded plastic piece connected to the interior, and not a separate engine block, but most top end detail is molded with depth.
Thanks for viewing!
