I don’t have a ton of 6-cylinder vehicles in my collection. I certainly have some cool Porsches, but I figured y’all would have those covered. I had planned to feature a Grand National today, but the snow we received this morning (go home mother nature, you’re drunk!) inspired me to choose the AWD Syclone instead.
My favorite story about the Syclone is the story of how Jay Leno bought one. One Christmas season he stopped at a tree lot and bought a tree for his home. When the lot wanted to charge him extra to deliver it, he instead went across the street to the GMC dealer, and bought a Syclone. He still uses it as his “bad weather” car.
It’s late, so I can’t be bothered to fact check any of this, but the turbo charged 4.3 liter V6 packed enough punch to make it the quickest production vehicle for its time. This being a 1:64 scale Johnny Lighting, there isn’t a ton of detail under the hood. Like I said, I don’t have a lot of 6-cylinders vehicles in my stable.
I absolutely love this casting. I love squarebody S-Series vehicles in general, and the Syclone to my eyes was the pinnacle of it. It’s a really well done casting, and the paint-job is gorgeous. I don’t love these wheels though. I can’t decide if I should swap them out, or if I did what I should change them too.
My oldest daughter insisted that I bring this TA to school today. I think they make a good pair.
